Celebrities Who Should Be On Match Game Season 7 (If There Is One, Which There Should Be)

Hello everybody!

As I’m sure you probably all remember, the best game show of all time, Match Game, returned last summer for a sixth season!

Unfortunately, at the time of writing this, I don’t know if there will be a seventh season, and I won’t know until ABC announces their summer schedule, so this is going to be one big hypothetical post.

You’re probably wondering what a hypothetical post about Match Game could be about, and I’ll let you all know: I’m going to talk about celebrities that should be on Season 7, both having returned from Season 6, having returned from the Alec Baldwin version, and celebrities who haven’t been on yet but have been making the game show circuit.

Here are some celebrities that absolutely need to return for Season 7, and some of them might surprise you!

Caroline Rhea - she is easily the most recurring panelist of the entire show, and it’s easy to see why: she’s absolutely hilarious, and was not only great with Alec Baldwin, but also Martin Short and whoever the other panelists were on all of her episodes.

Joel McHale - another hilarious recurring panelist that I was glad returned for Season 6, and should definitely be on Season 7.

Thomas Lennon - easily one of the funniest and craziest panelists the show has ever had, and I genuinely think that his time on Match Game is what made him a regular on almost every other major game show.

Anthony Anderson - just as funny and crazy as Thomas Lennon, and since he has been a regular on several other game shows, we could see him on Season 7.

Adam Pally - while he was on two episodes of the Baldwin version and was very funny there, I don’t know if I would say he was one of my favorites, but on the Martin Short version, he completely won me over with how outrageously terrible he was at the game, and a recurring joke that he seems to do on all the game shows he is on, which is to completely forget what show it is that he is currently on.

Constance Zimmer - the main reason here is because she was such a regular on the Baldwin version and was already on two episodes of the Martin Short version, so it wouldn’t feel right if she didn’t come back for another season.

Selena Gomez - the reason here has nothing to do with being funny or entertaining, but because she is a big enough name that would probably attract a lot of viewers, ensuring that there are more episodes.

Andrea Martin - she is a long time costar of Martin Short, and was on two episodes last season, and she was funny with how bad she was, and also the fact that she knew how bad she was.

Triumph The Insult Comic Dog - I find the idea that one of the celebrity panelists last season was a literal actual puppet, and I want him to be on again for this reason, and also because he is funny.

Pete Holmes - I was not familiar with him before he was on the show, and I just have to say… this guy is absolutely hilarious! It’s a shame that it took him so long to start making appearances on game shows, because he is just the best.

Now, here are some celebrities from the Alec Baldwin version that I feel would be great for Season 7!

Mario Cantone - another regular from the Baldwin version whose absence was greatly felt in Season 6. I don’t know why he wasn’t on. Maybe the show not being taped in New York was a factor, or maybe he supported Alec Baldwin so much that he didn’t want to be on the show with another host, we’ll never know. But he was easily always one of the highlights whenever he was on, and I feel like he would be great with Martin Short.

Jason Alexander - another regular from the Baldwin version who is quite funny, and he has several connections to Martin Short, so it would make sense for him to be on Season 7.

Ron Funches - comedian who has since been on every other major game show, including the current season of The Traitors, which means that he could absolutely be on Season 7, and if I may get a little personal and vulnerable right now, he recently opened up about having autism, and as someone who also has autism, I like seeing celebrities with autism being successful and getting regular work.

Joe Lo Truglio - actor and comedian from Brooklyn Nine Nine who has weirdly only been on one episode and very few other game shows, which is a shame because he is very funny.

Leah Remini - actress who was on a few episodes of the Baldwin version before never appearing again, which is an absolute shame, because she was INCREDIBLY funny when she was on the show.

Leslie Jones - easily one of the funniest and craziest people on the planet, she was only on one episode of the Baldwin version, and I hope that they get her again if there is a Season 7, because she is just amazing.

Justin Long - he was only on two episodes of the Baldwin version, but he was great on both of those episodes, and if there is a Season 7, it would be great to see him again.

Jermaine Fowler - I know this seems like a very bizarre choice, and that almost all of you reading have no idea who this is, but he was on one episode of the Baldwin version, was absolutely terrible there, has since been on two other game shows, and was on Season 5 of Only Murders In The Building, so he has the Martin Short connection, and it would be great to see if he has gotten better at the game, or if he is like Adam Pally and gotten so much worse that it’s unfathomable.

RuPaul - somehow he was only on one episode of the Baldwin version, which is shocking for someone who is a regular on game shows, but he was certainly memorable there, and he should be a part of Season 7 if it happens.

Ben Schwartz - he was only on one episode of the Baldwin version, but since then, he has been on two other ABC game shows, and as he is famous for his improv comedy, I feel that it would be great to see him again on a show that is essentially an improv show.

And now, here are some celebrities that have never been panelists, but absolutely should!

Tiffany Haddish - she has been on virtually every other major game show on TV, and is one of the funniest and craziest people ever, so her being on Match Game would be more than welcome.

Richard Kind - another costar of Martin Short who hasn’t been on many game shows, but he is funny, and I feel that if someone is willing to work with the Impractical Jokers, they would probably do Match Game.

Lisa Ann Walter - she is a current ABC star, she is incredibly funny, and she has been on several other game shows, so I think that’s enough reasoning for her.

Lauren Lapkus - actress and comedian who is very funny and been on several other game shows.

Natasha Leggero - actress and comedian who I find very funny and has been on several other game shows.

Ken Marino - actor and comedian who has been on several other game shows and is friends with several past panelists.

Alyson Hannigan - she was incredibly funny as the host of Penn & Teller: Fool Us and when she was on a special celebrity episode of MasterChef, and somehow she was never on the Baldwin version, so she needs to be on Season 7.

Aisha Tyler - she is an incredibly funny person who has been on quite a few game shows, and I feel that Season 7 could be the next stop for her.

Shaggy - yes, I know this is a very bizarre choice, but the Baldwin version was known for having bizarre choices for panelists, and as Shaggy has already been on a few other game shows and has a fun personality, he would be great for Season 7.

Tig Notaro - actress and comedian who has been on a few other game shows, and since my mom likes her, that is enough reason for me to say that she should be on Season 7.

Kristen Schaal - she has been on a few game shows recently, and I feel she is entertaining enough to be on Season 7.

London Hughes - I only really know her from To Tell The Truth, but she was entertaining there, which I feel makes her good for Season 7.

Brendan Hunt - I feel that it makes sense for Match Game to have someone from Ted Lasso as a panelist, and since he has already been on two other ABC game shows, Season 7 of Match Game would not be out of the question for him.

Penn Jillette - he has been on several other game shows already, and I’m surprised that he was never on the Baldwin version.

Kel Mitchell - he recently started appearing on game shows, so Season 7 might not be out of the question for him.

Roy Wood Jr - has has been on a few game shows in the past, so Match Game might be next.

Jeff Ross - he has been on several other game shows already, and I can totally see him being on Season 7.

Lil Rel Howery - he has been on every other major game show, so much so to the point that I’m genuinely shocked he wasn’t on Season 6, so maybe he’ll be on Season 7.

Tony Hale - he has been on several other game shows on ABC, so Match Game could be next for him.

Chelsea Peretti - she has been on Hollywood Squares and Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune in the past year, so she could totally do Season 7.

Vicki Lawrence - in the final season of the Baldwin version, they had a few celebrities that could be described as “TV legends,” and I feel she would make a great addition to this, as she has also been on Celebrity Family Feud and Hollywood Squares.

Margaret Cho - actress and comedian who has already been on almost every other major game show, so she could be on Season 7.

George Lopez - actor and comedian who has already been on Celebrity Family Feud and To Tell The Truth.

Craig Robinson - actor and comedian who has already been on three other celebrity game shows.

Brad Garrett - was on several episodes of To Tell The Truth and episodes of Celebrity Family Feud and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and somehow he was never on an episode of the Baldwin version.

Ricki Lake - I feel that she fits the profile of a celebrity who seems out of place among the other celebrities because she actually has already been on a few other game shows.

Sebastian Maniscalco - has already been on three other ABC game shows.

Dulce Sloan - comedian and Daily Show correspondent who has already been on a few other game shows.

Carson Kressley - regular on game shows in general, so Match Game could be next.

Melissa Peterman - yet another game show regular, so maybe Match Game could be next for her.

Billy Gardell - actor and comedian who has been on a few other game shows already.

Nicole Byer - she has already been on so many other game shows.

Patton Oswalt - I’m surprised that he was never on an episode of the Baldwin version, but with his appearances on other game shows, he could be on Season 7.

Jo Koy - I just feel that with his recent appearances on Hollywood Squares, he could be on Season 7.

Joe Manganiello - he appeared on a few game shows in the 2010s and 2020s, so Match Game could be next for him.

Arsenio Hall - yet another TV legend that has recently started appearing on other game shows.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson - he has started working the game show circuit, and I am surprised that he was never on the Baldwin version, considering he starred in a show on ABC.

Weird Al Yankovic - he has appeared on a few game shows, so Season 7 might not be too crazy for him.

Paul Scheer - he has been on every other major game show in recent years, and I’m honestly kind of shocked he wasn’t on Season 6, so maybe Season 7 is where he makes his Match Game debut.

Ben Feldman - he has been on a few other game shows, and maybe Season 7 is the next one for him.

D’Arcy Carden - she has already been on so many other major game shows, and I feel that Season 7 could be next for her.

Timothy Simons - he has started working the game show circuit, and Season 7 could be on the table for him.

Colton Dunn - yet another celebrity who has started working the game show circuit and I could see him doing Season 7.

Iliza Shlesinger - yet another comedian who has been on many other major game shows that I could see doing Season 7.

Rachael Harris - another celebrity who started working the game show circuit, and I feel that Season 7 could be next for her.

Taran Killam - another celebrity who has been on two other ABC game shows, so I feel he could be on Season 7.

Meagan Good - she has already been on three other major ABC game shows, so Match Game Season 7 could be next for her.

Chris Redd - he has recently started working the game show circuit, so Season 7 could be next for him.

Fortune Feimster - she has been on basically every other major game show, so Season 7 is definitely next for her.

Gary Owen - comedian who was on an episode of To Tell The Truth, so Season 7 could be on the table for him.

Jaleel White - I know this seems like a very bizarre choice, but he has started working the game show circuit in recent years, so much so to the point that Season 7 could be the next thing for him.

Oscar Nunez - he has slowly started working the game show circuit in recent years, and Season 7 could be the next one for him.

Wendi McLendon-Covey - I am genuinely surprised that she was never on an episode of the Baldwin version, considering she starred in a popular ABC sitcom at the time, but with her recent game show appearances, Season 7 could be next for her.

Cedric The Entertainer - he has been on almost every other major game show, so Match Game should be next for him.

Reggie Watts - he started making his way on the game show circuit in the past few years, and Match Game could be next.

Atsuko Okatsuka - she was on two ABC game shows last year, so Season 7 could be next for her.

Bobby Lee - with podcast hosts showing up everywhere these days, and him being on a few other game shows, he could be on Season 7.

Leanne Morgan - with her immediate rise in popularity and her appearance on Celebrity Family Feud, she could be on Season 7.

Lil Jon - while he seems like a bizarre choice, he has been on several other game shows already, and I feel that his personality is good for Match Game.

George Wallace - older stand up comedian who was on an episode of Celebrity Family Feud last year, which I feel could increase his chances of being on Season 7.

Bobby Flay - since he was on an episode of Celebrity Family Feud last year, I just feel like he could be on Match Game.

Michelle Buteau - she has been on almost every other major game show, so Season 7 could be next for her.

Vanessa Bayer - SNL alum who has started working the game show circuit, so Season 7 could be the next thing she does.

Liza Koshy - she has been on a few other game shows, some of which were on ABC, so she could be on Season 7.

Overall, these are almost all the celebrities that I feel could make for a great Season 7 of Match Game, and if it does happen this summer, we’ll see how many of them are on it!
