After FOUR. LONG. YEARS, and coming to acceptance that I would never see another episode of Match Game again, it was time to watch the first episode of Season 6 of Match Game! The excitement that I was feeling at this moment was unlike anything that I had felt for any show since at least February when the latest season of The Masked Singer premiered, although I still don’t think that’s a good comparison because it’s always a couple of months before The Masked Singer returns, and again, it had been four years since there was any new Match Game episodes. I was so happy that the show was coming back, and with a host as funny and iconic as Martin Short. And after watching the episode, I can safely say that it was just as good as the Alec Baldwin version. After a unique challenge last week with Recipe Telephone, it was time for the second team challenge of the season! I am going to be completely honest with you all up front right now, I am not the biggest fan of the team challenges on the show, as it is really just a showcase of who can mess up the most before there is somehow a winner, and since Match Game started right after this episode, my mind was not on the show I was watching at the time, and I even changed the channel before the episode ended, so this will not be a super in depth blog post.  For the challenge in this episode, the contestants had to make a fine-dining experience for 60 VIP train passengers, which consisted of an amuse-bouche and a main course. The amuse-bouche the red team made was Crab Vol Au Vent with Creme Fraiche, Dill, and Salmon Roe Caviar, which is a dish that I might be willing to try, and their main course was Filet Mignon with Sautéed Mushrooms, Mashed Potatoes, Wilted Greens, and Peppercorn Sauce, ...

After a great episode last week where teams had to build replicas of objects out of Lego bricks, it was time for the semifinals with the most unique and difficult challenge so far in the series!  For the challenge in this weeks episode, the teams had to make a contraption that moved a ping pong ball from one build to another team’s build, and the goal was to get the ball to go through all four builds, going from one end of the studio to the other.  The first team to present their build was Anthony and Joe. The story behind their build was called “Escape From Mom,” and the story was that Johnny and his mom are out for a summer vacation at an amusement park, and Johnny decides to go on a little adventure of his own. The ball was going to go up the anti-gravity funhouse, go down the Whoa Coaster, and then up through the Flume of Doom. I can’t believe that I am about to say this, but we are now days away from the new season of Match Game! ABC has gone out of their way to promote the show in every way they possibly can on social media, the internet, and television. In this blog post, I will be discussing the various things I have seen, as well as my theories as to what some of them mean.  One of the first things I would like to discuss are episodes. As I have said before, a total of eight episodes were taped, and thanks to both celebrities who like posting everything and the show’s social media, I know all the celebrities on every episode. I will now be going over it with all of you, starting in the order in which they will air, before saying the last five in a random order.

After a great episode last week that saw the return of the Pressure Test, it was time for an episode that would introduce a new challenge, Recipe Telephone! As this was a completely new challenge, I was curious to see how it was going to work. How the challenge worked was that each duo would be split up, with one teammate beginning cooking, while the other one waited in a separate room, and halfway through the challenge, the duos would swap places, and the second teammate would have to complete the dish. The only way that the second teammate would be able to tell what is being made is by some culinary clues that the first teammate left. After cooking time was up, the judges went around and gave final looks to each dish, and from there, they would choose a top three and a bottom three. The first duo that landed in the top three was Jessica and Jesse. Their dish was a Chargrilled Pork Chop with Maple Glaze, Chipotle Sweet Potato, Broccolini, and Peperonata, which is a dish that I would b...

After an entertaining episode last week where the contestants had to make masks, it was time for the “Is It Brick” challenge! To explain what this is, it’s the Lego version of “Is It Cake,” in which the teams had to choose an object that was in a room on the set, and then make an exact replica of it out of Lego. After build time is up, all the builds would be placed back in the room, and a special guest would come in and try to guess what is real and what is brick, and teams would do well based on how they did with replicating their object and if they were able to fool the guest.  When time was up, the teams presented what they had made.  Anne and Luke chose to replicate a full-size bed. Even when I found out that was what they were doing, I knew they were going to be in trouble, as the last time they had this challenge, there was a team who chose to build a replica of a carpet, and struggled to do so, didn’t finish it, and were saved because they used the Golden Brick. After a fun episode two weeks ago with the first team challenge, it was time for the first Pressure Test of the season! For those of you who don’t know, a Pressure Test is a challenge that they typically have right after a team challenge, but they got rid of them in the past few seasons after they switched to a format of one challenge an episode, so this was the first Pressure Test they had in five seasons.  The duos that competed in this challenge were the five duos that were on the losing Blue Team in the previous team challenge. At each of their stations was a Mystery Box, and when they lifted it up, underneath was a mallet. The judges then revealed that the mallets would be used for breaking the Mystery Boxes, which were made of chocolate, and the contestants would have to use that chocolate specifically in some way in the desserts that they would be making. After taking last week off, it was time for the next episode of Lego Masters! As always, I am only going to be talking about the important details in the episode. For this weeks challenge, The teams had to make a wearable mask to go along with a dress for a masquerade ball, and each team had to wear what they built. Both Brickmaster Jamie and Amy dressed up in accordance to the challenge, and they were wearing outfits that made me hope they were getting paid extra to wear them, as Jamie was wearing an outfit that can best be described as what The Beast wore in Beauty and The Beast, while Amy was wearing a dress that was clearly bigger than her.  After build time was up, Anne and Luke, who had won the Golden Brick in the previous challenge, were asked if they wanted to use it for that challenge, and they said they wanted to.  The first team to present their build was Sage and Ian, who built a mask that they called Guardian of the Forest. After having talked about it in two previous posts already, I am now finally going to share with you all the Match Game questions that I have written!  Before I share them with you all, I would like to inform you all of how the questions on Match Game work. They are not standard game show questions, as they are bizarre, random, humorous, risqué fill-in-the-blank questions where contestants have to fill in the blank with whatever they think is the right answer, making it almost more like an improv prompt.
